Parent Info 2026 Season

Our team has 88 swimmers this year! Nate is our Head Coach. Lex and Lorelie are Assistant Coaches, and Alex, Kaitlyn, Kate, are all junior Coaches. The coaches page contains bios for each of these fantastic coaches.

Practices are set by age group. Based on the size of the group and the skills the kids need to work on the coaches will divide them into different lanes and work with them in smaller groups. The coaches have a weekly lesson that they set up based on what they see from the kids every week. WE RESPECTFULLY ASK ALL PARENTS TO REMAIN OFF DECK DURING PRACTICE. Please don't coach the swimmers during practice, cheer them on! Thank you!

(READ THIS SECTION WITH A LOT OF ATTENTION) With a large team, line-ups are a lot of work. We swim mostly relays. If one swimmer doesn't show up, three swimmers may not be able to swim. Replacing a swimmer at the last minute is difficult and often impossible. Each swimmer is important!!! Please don't think that if your swimmer isn't the fastest, they don't help the team. They do!!! Obviously, things can come up, but that should be rare. Unfortunately, we still had a number of no shows last year. Please be mindful that your swimmer not showing up or having a last-minute change often results in a few hours of work on the part of the coaches and/or 3 other kids not being able to swim a race. The coaches would like an easy year of not having to chase anyone for responses and being able to prepare lineups early.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO UPDATE THE WEBSITE FOR YOUR SWIMMERS. Telling a board member, a coach or anyone else doesn't work. You need to log on to the website, click on the meets and let us know if your swimmer is attending or not attending. A missing response will be considered not attending. We will not adjust the line up at the meet for swimmers that did not sign up. We ask that you let us know if your child is swimming or not about a week in advance. You will typically get email, remind or facebook notices regarding registering your swimmer for a meet. All meets are now open to register for, if you know your schedule now please feel free to log your availability. If your swimmer isn't ready to swim a meet, please don't enter them. If they aren't feeling confident, we don't want them overwhelmed. But we do want them to come and cheer the team. The coaches won't have a swimmer do something they can't but will challenge them at time to strokes they don't always love.

About jobs at meets....we need parent support in order to hold meets. When you registered your child you had to volunteer for jobs. I know some of you may not have been able to because roles were filled but we've had some changes in registration and parent availability so there are now several jobs available. If you haven't signed up for a job yet please log on and select one of the available slots. If you have signed up for a job and your schedule has changed please let one of our board members know we will work to reschedule you. I know many of you are new to this and some of you may just be new to the jobs you signed up, we will train you! If you signed up for a job and you cannot make it to the meet that day for some reason (illness, etc), you must contact the board as soon as possible. We've had issues in the past where parents have signed up and failed to show on the day of the meet. That left us trying to find someone to fill their spot as we are starting the meet. Also, some jobs are shifts so you may work for part of the meet and someone will step in and work the rest. Please pay attention to the time you are scheduled to work and arrive on time. Please work with us and we will work with you!

For meets, the parking lot is for the visiting team. Franklin Ridge families should park on the street or designated driveways. Please park wisely (on only one side of the street) so emergency vehicles can get through or neighbors backing out their cars can maneuver. Please be sure to clean up after yourselves at the meets.

Watch your speed as you drive through the neighborhood!!

The meet time line is on the website. Most meets are done around 8:30. Swimmers should stay with the team as much as possible, but if they are not, they must make sure they are at the ready bench about 4 events before they are to swim. It is important to keep track of the meet. Swimmers will arrive at the meet, warm up and then have their events written on their hands. We do like all the swimmers to remain till the end of the meet, but some of those little ones have a tough time hanging around. You can have events at the beginning and end of a meet. We have a team of parents taking care of ready bench and we don't want to play hide and seek. Your children are your responsibility so please make sure to keep track of the meet an where they are. Be their fans! Leave the coaching to us.

Addresses for away meets are on the website.

These are scored meets. There is a winner and loser at each meet. At the end of the season, team with the most wins gets the big trophy!!!

We are looking forward to a great season! Go Fins!
